CHCA conducted a research in three regions of Georgia

which aimed at analyzing the readiness and potential of the interested persons/companies involved in the economic activities and their involvement in the project.

The project “Enabling Georgia’s Most Vulnerable Youth to Become Productive, Contributing Adult Citizens Through Mentoring, Training and Employment” (implemented in Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Shida Kartli) is being implemented by CHCA through the financial support of the EU through co-applicants Society "Biliki" (Gori) and "Divine Child Foundation of Georgia” (Mtskheta). The goal of the project is to strengthen the adolescents in small group homes and foster care through various trainings, vocational courses, employment and also prepare them for an independent life.

In May, the organization conducted 6 focus groups and 12 in-depth interviews with the representatives of local businesses (small and medium entrepreneurs) and specialists working with children under state care (social workers, heads of NGOs, foster caregivers,, small group home leaders). As a result of the survey, the attitudes of the companies/persons involved in economic activity in the target regions were revealed. Specifically, how much local business representatives are willing to cooperate with the project, whether they want to take part in the establishing of social enterprises, what is their business interest, and what is their will to promote the reintegration and re-socialization of this particular vulnerable group.

Within the framework of the project, two social enterprises per region will be established where project beneficiaries will undergo internships and will be employed. Presentation of the research will be held by CHCA in July and will be attended by non-governmental organizations, business representatives and other stakeholders working in the region.
