COVID-19 prevention and response in the IDP Collective Centres in Georgia

Objective: 
To introduce COVID-19 prevention and response mechanisms in the IDP collective centres through advocacy, coordination and collaboration of the state and non-state actors and provide psychosocial support and needs-based assistance to the extremely vulnerable representatives of the IDP communities.
Term: 
April – September 2020
Tasks:
  • Rapid needs assessment of the selected IDP settlements.
  • Awareness-raising and advocacy activities for beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provision of multiple services to the IDP settlements in general and risk groups.
Expected Results:
  • A better understanding of the IDP needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Increased awareness of the threats and prevention measures associated with the coronavirus.
  • Improvement of a sanitary situation and living conditions in the collective centres and targeted assistance to those most at risk, including the elderly and people with health issues. 
Target Regions: 
Shida Kartli, Imereti and Samegrelo.
