CHCA in Ukraine

On June 7-14, CHCA Director Nukri Milorava paid a working visit to Ukraine. He visited the reception points for refugees operating on the Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Romanian borders. He met with Ukrainian refugees and community organizations to learn about the current situation and needs. He handed over the kits of primary hygiene items to the Ukrainian lonely elderly under the name Rukhi elderly house"Chemi Mordu" of the CHCA.
In Kyiv N. Milorava met with Ukrainian NGOs working on refugee assistance and conducted seminars on issues relevant to the Ukrainian context: identifying urgent needs, effective forms of assistance, community involvement, security measures, coordination, humanitarian principles and more. Based on the discussions and observations, complex measures to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian NGOs were planned.
An agreement was reached to hold expert group meetings on livelihoods and to develop a pilot program based on CHCA experience.
CHCA is going to continue providing assistance to the victims of the Russia-Ukraine war and will build beforementioned assistance based on its 25 years of experience and expertise in working with IDPs.
