A study visit was carried out in Denmark on May 12-17, the main activity of which was to familiarize with the experience and best practices of the Danish organization Civil Society in Development (CISU). Since 1995, CISU has been supporting more than 300 member organizations of its network both in terms of capacity building and with grant components.
The visit aimed to study the organizational and program management systems of civil society in Denmark, as well as to familiarize with the models of partnership cooperation that unite the civil sector and various institutions.
Representatives of various fields participated in the visit, including civil society organizations, the Caucasus Caregivers Cooperation Network (CCC Network), government and social policy experts.
Main aspects of the visit:
-Study of governance and activity models of civil society organizations operating in Denmark
-Introduction to successful CISU practices that promote the development of the civil sector in different countries
-Analysis of cooperation mechanisms with central and local governments
-Discussion of partnership between stakeholders and CISU
The visit also included:
-Meetings with non-governmental organizations operating in Denmark that work in the field of social policy and service delivery.
Consultations with social policy experts - reforms of the social protection system and the importance of public engagement were discussed
-Introduction to network cooperation models that unite civil society, local government and state agencies.
-Visiting the CISU office, where participants studied the Danish experience of grant management, partnership and project evaluation.
Topics and practical components discussed:
-The role of civil society in the social protection system;
-Participatory governance mechanisms and beneficiary involvement in decision-making processes;
-Practices of cooperation with local governments;
-Social innovations and sustainable financing structures.
Finally, participants have a new vision of the governance structures, financial management and cooperation practices of civil society organizations operating in Denmark, which contributes to the planning of joint initiatives and projects in the future.
The visit was not only an opportunity to gain experience, but also a basis for sustainable and result-oriented international partnerships, which is important for the development of Georgian civil society.
