The event included the following:
- Presentation of the project and its achievements;
- Presentation of the research conducted - the attitude of IDPs living in Poti and Khobi towards environmentally sustainable practices;
- Presentation of the establishment of the Poti Energy Club and its activities.
- A memorandum of understanding was officially signed by the chairmen of the homeowners’ associations in the IDP settlements of Poti and Khobi, which already represent a cooperation network.
The project results are:
- Screening of 60 HOAs in Poti and Khobi municipalities was conducted;
- 8 new HOAs were established;
- 61 representatives of HOAs improved their skills in HOA management and opportunities;
- 20 representatives participated in a study tour and got acquainted with the activities of successful HOAs.
- Infrastructural screening of 20 IDP resettlement facilities was conducted;
- A survey of IDPs' knowledge and attitudes towards sustainable environmental practices was conducted.
- An energy club was established in the IDP settlement of Poti (50 people joined).
- Up to 5,000 people were informed about energy efficiency and renewable energy through an awareness-raising campaign.
The project was implemented between December 2024 and May 2025 by the Charity Humanitarian Center "Abkhazeti" with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Georgia) and the Government of Denmark (Embassy of Denmark in Georgia).
The goal of the project was to promote sustainable local development and resilience in IDP settlements in Poti and Khobi municipalities through green and just transitions, promoting inclusive governance, improved living conditions and environmental sustainability.
