On 11 October, Kutaisi Education Development and Employment Centre (KEDEC) organised a regional conference. The conference was attended by the project partners, the representatives of TACs, local self-government and Homeowner associations’ representatives. 

The conference discussed the role of the local self-government and civil society in the development of homeowner associations, the need of the legislative changes, and the recommendations developed in the framework of the project about housing and homeowner association management. During the panel discussion format, the representative of CHCA delivered a presentation “Housing Sector Regulations in Georgia – Recommendations”. In the framework of the conference, the participants discussed the main challenges and achievements of the housing sector in Georgia and the international best practice examples.

The project “HOME: the way forward for reforms in the housing sector: empowering grass root homeowners' associations in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine”, is co-funded by the European Union and has been implemented under the lead of the German NGO “Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO e.v.) in the 5 Eastern Partnership countries. The project partner in Tbilisi is Charity Humanitarian Centre “Abkhazeti”.
