The grant competition for the project "Integrated Territorial Development of Khoni Municipality" was announced on November 17, 2023. AIPs, entrepreneurs and startups can participate in the competition. The amount of the grant is from 3000 to 5000 euros equivalent in GEL.
25 business ideas were selected in the first stage of the grant competition supporting small and medium entrepreneurs. In order to strengthen the mechanisms of civic engagement, the candidates selected for the membership of the Khoni Youth Council were trained on the topics "Legal basis of civic participation and its role in local self-government" and "Participatory budgeting. The grant competition is held in two stages. After completing the training course, the contestant must present a perfect business plan, after which the winner will be announced.
The acceptance of the documents of the winners of the II stage of the grant competition started on February 1.
From 46 grant proposals, the commission selected 25 of the best, whose authors were given two-day trainings on business plan drafting techniques, which included the following topics:
- Customer needs and market research
-Competition analysis and strategies -Pricing strategies and distribution channels
- Sales promotion
- Determining the cost of production and correct assessment
- Developing the project budget
-Profit-loss and cash-flow source development

After the trainings, the participants had the opportunity to have individual consultations with a business trainer.
The acceptance of the documents of the participants of the second stage of the grant competition will end on February 15 of this year. The winners will be announced on March 1.

The project is implemented by the Municipality of Khoni and the Charity Humanitarian Center "Abkhazeti", with the financial support of the European Union for Georgia (EUD).
