Resilient Basements for Green Communities - Adapting the Living Climate of IDPs

CHCA is implementing the project "Resilient Basements for Green Communities - Adapting the Living Climate of IDPs" in Poti, which aims to increase the climate resilience and livability of multi-apartment buildings in the IDP settlement of Poti by implementing a sustainable, hybrid infrastructure and nature-based solution model.

Within the scope of the project:
✔ Basements of 3 residential buildings will be repaired and reinforced;
✔ Drainage systems will be installed for rapid water drainage;
✔ 3 "rain gardens" will be established - a nature-based solution that regulates the flow of rainwater and prevents flooding;
✔ Reaplication Plan will be prepared to expand this model to other districts;
✔ 60 homeowners' association leaders will undergo special training in the maintenance of rain gardens.

Project target region: Poti Municipality;
Donor: United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Denmark.
