An energy-efficient stove guarantees a warm—and, most importantly, healthy—environment for a family.

Meet 34-year-old Maka Kukhaleishvili from the village of Kheti, in the Khobi Municipality.

Maka lives with her husband and their two minor children. As Maka and both of her children are persons with disabilities, heating their home during the winter presents significant financial and physical challenges for this socially vulnerable family.

Previously, the family used a standard, old-fashioned wood-burning stove, which required a large amount of firewood to maintain warmth. Through this project, Maka’s family has been provided with a modern, energy-efficient stove—the "Promethe" (Model B2).

Unlike the old, inefficient model, the B2 consumes up to 50% less fuel. Consequently, the family will need only half as much firewood for heating, and the warmth will be retained in the room for much longer. Unlike traditional stoves, modern models do not leave smoke or harmful particles in the room, creating a much safer, healthier, and warmer living environment for children.
