Success Story of Gela Kharanauli

Success Story of Gela Kharanauli

In 2025, Gela Kharanauli returned to Georgia after residing in Switzerland with his family. Upon their return, they became beneficiaries of the "Support for Migrants Returning from Switzerland to Georgia" project, implemented through a partnership between the Charity Humanitarian Center of Abkhazia (CHCA) and the Swiss Social Service (SSI).

Prior to leaving Georgia, Gela gained experience in agricultural activities. He owns a plot of land in Dusheti, where he decided to cultivate potatoes and feed for cattle, aiming to sell the produce locally. Following his return to Georgia, CHCA conducted an assessment of Gela’s professional skills, as well as the viability and alignment of his business plan with the Georgian market. Gela’s business proposal received the highest scores across all evaluation criteria and was subsequently presented to Swiss partners, who granted him a financial support of 4,700 Swiss francs. With these funds, the CHCA team purchased a 15-horsepower motoblock and related equipment for land cultivation, as well as a land-mowing motoblock.

Currently, Gela is actively cultivating his land and is expected to harvest crops in the fall of 2025, which will contribute to his income. His entrepreneurship journey, supported by the project, has been progressing successfully since receiving the funds in spring 2025.
