Project Title: Creation and Development of Homeowners’ Associations
Objective: Creation and retraining of Homeowners’ Associations and Maintenance Groups; capacity building for target municipalities.

Results achieved: Created 3 Homeowners’ Associations and Maintenance Groups; improved their knowledge and capacity building; Provided construction toolkits to Maintenance Groups; Raised awareness of self-government representatives.  
Area of action: Imereti (Kutaisi), Samtskhe-Javakheti (Borjomi) and Shida Kartli (Kaspi).

Teona Bukia - Borjomi
Teona Bukia lives in IDPs new rehabilitation building in Borjomi. The Homeowners’ Association founded in 2015 by CHCA, elected her as Chairperson for a one-year term. “As Chairperson, I have already managed to solve problems we were facing. The new repairs started to deteriorate 6 months after we received the apartments. Based on the knowledge received at the trainings, it was easy and simple for me to cooperate with a construction company and to repair the damaged locations in the apartment house,” she says.  The Homeowners’ Association has a Common Fund which accumulated amounts from renting out the construction toolkits donated to the Maintenance Group and from membership fees.  The Homeowners’ Association has replaced old light bulbs in the apartment house entrance and has painted benches in the yard with the money accumulated in the Fund.
